29 stocks have been ejected from Vanguard ESG funds (ESGVVSGX) created to invest in companies with strong environmental, social and governance records.

They include GEO Group (NYSE:GEO), Sturm Ruger (NYSE:RGR), Yum Brands (NYSE:YUM), GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK), News Corp (NASDAQ:NWSA) and Fox (NASDAQ:FOXA).

There was an “issue in the screening methodology used by our benchmark provider, FTSE Russell,” Vanguard said in the letter. “We sincerely regret the error occurred.”
