Help us plan and strategize for #NOSL19!
On August 6, folks across the country will be uniting to reimagine what public safety really means for our communities: having a living wage job, healthy food, healthcare, housing, education, and more. Now in its seventh year, Night Out For Safety and Liberation(NOSL) is continuing to grow and we want to invite you all to take it to the next level in 2019.
NOSL happens on the first Tuesday of August and is an alternative to National Night Out, a police-centric event that promotes “police-community partnerships.” NOSL redefines what safety means beyond policing, surveillance and punishment.
Last year, groups hosted more than 30 NOSL events in cities across the country, and this year we hope to spread NOSL even further with your participation and collaboration.
NOSL events have included block parties, vigils, rallies, teach-ins, and more. We will share more information about the goals, timeline, and all the different ways groups can participate in #NOSL2019 during an introductory webinar on Wednesday, April 24 at 11 am PST (1 pm CST, 2 pm EST).
Whether you ‘ve hosted a NOSL event in the past and are starting to plan for this year, or you want to know how to get involved, join the webinar to get connected. We are excited to plan and strategize #NOSL2019 with all of you. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to the NOSL planning team with any questions, concerns, or comments.
