Recently IDP has been working closely with JustLeadershipUSA, a national organization focused on ending mass incarceration, to create a legislative agenda of protections for people who have had contact with the criminal legal system, including immigrants. The new slate of legislation, called the Justice Roadmap, highlights the ways the criminal legal system specifically impacts immigrants, and includes legislation from both the One Day to Protect New Yorkers and the ICE Out of Courts campaigns. Last week, we held a rally outside the New York Supreme Court with the supporting advocacy organizations and a group of state senators to launch the Roadmap.
