Night Out for Safety & Liberation

More police doesn't help make a neighborhood safe.On August 2nd communities from around the country will come out for the Night Out for Safety and Liberation (NOSL) as we redefine and reimagine what public safety really means for our communities.

In New York, workers are standing up against the continued brutality and abuse by the NYPD and ICE. We need more resources for schools, health care, and access to living wage jobs. Enlace and the New York Worker Center Federation will march to demand defunding Police and ICE, and demanding reinvestment in our neighborhoods and families!

Here are 3 ways you can join us in bringing the power to define what #SafetyIs back to our communities:

  • Join Enlace and the New York Worker Center Federation in New York or find a #NOSL16 event near you.
  • Can’t attend an event in person? Join us in conversations online. Check out the Social Media Toolkit for sample posts.
  • Tell us what you need to feel safe in your community during our Twitter chat on August 2nd at 11 am PST (12 pm MST1 pm CST2 pm EST). Click here to register.
