Speak to the Board of Supervisors on Closing Youth Prisons

SHUT DOWN CYA / DJJ??!!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 13 at 10 AM at the Board of Supervisors

500 West Temple, downtown L.A. the L.A. County Board of Supervisors will consider a motion raised by probation Chief Powers and passed by the County’s Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to oppose the governor’s plan to close the state’s remaining youth prisons AKA DJJ (formerly CYA).

The YJC is calling on the country to create a local alternative to DJJ so families can stay involved and programming can be more consistent.  Please come to the hearing and raise your voice.
