Community organizations and allies lead by the MIRA Coalition marched on Fidelity and Wells Fargo in Boston, MA. Fidelity and Wells Fargo are among the biggest investors in For Profit Prison, holding millions in shares in Corrections Corporation of America and the GEO Group. Protestors rallied outside Fidelity offices with slogans “Who Profits from Human Bondage? Geo Group” and “Who is a Modern Day Slave Owner? Corrections Corporation of America” demanding that Fidelity divest from prisons and invest in humanity.
Students from Hebrew College and Andover Newton Theological School also held an event in protest of Fidelity and Wells Fargo. Students hung up signs throughout both campuses and handed out educational materials to inform the student body about the massive profit that these companies are making from separating immigrant families.
